Cities underground? These cities troglodyte caves were dug in the days of the Hittites, and expanded over the centuries by various marauding armies who traversed Central Anatolia in search of captives. There are 36 underground cities in Cappadocia and the wave is the Derinkuyu underground ciiudad while the widest is the Kaymakli underground city . Derinkuyu Underground City is located in the village of Derinkuyu name, which is located 40 km from Goreme (30 minute drive). There are about 600 outside doors to the city, hidden in the courtyards of the houses in the area. The underground city is about 85 meters deep. It contains all the usual rooms in an underground city (stables, cellars, warehouses, kitchens, churches, warehouses, etc.) Apart from these, a great room with barrel vault roof, the second floor was a missionary school.
