26 Of The Most Creative Cakes That Are Too Cool To Eat
Our clan is mostly a family of builders and cooks. About half of us are in the construction industry. I myself am
interested in creating DIY furniture, and I can say that I have the characteristics of a builder :) Some on the other hand
love cooking and baking. We all love to eat though – but who doesn’t?!
One day my aunt suggested a wonderful idea that would bring together our talents and passion – cake making! She said
she could use our help in creating cakes that would be inspired by buildings and all other things that our clients would
request. It would be just as fun as building scale models!
Right now we’re trying to learn by watching shows like Cake Boss, reading from the internet, buying a few books and
practicing little by little. We’ve also browsed the web for some inspiring cake designs, and it got us even more excited to
make our own!

Supercar Mercedes SLS AMG, Fell in the ocean
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in mention was en route from Germany to Argentina, where its buyer was patiently waiting for his delivery after spending a whopping $710,00 USD for the white sports car. While we don’t have too much insight on what exactly caused the unfortunate event, we do know that three containers fell off from a cargo ship while over the waters of the Rio de la Plata near the port of Ensenada in Buenos Aires, and as you guessed it, one of them was carrying the SLS AMG.
It’s saddening to see that the vehicle fell to its demise so close to its final destination, but rescue crews were able to swiftly recover the vehicle from the bottom of the ocean just after five days. While they acted fast, the SLS AMG sustained a level of damage that was beyond repair. After spending five days in the sun to dry out, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG’s engine turned on, alas the electrical components were fried beyond comprehension.

Typewritten Portraits
This post is particularly interesting because at first glance, you might not realize just how Brazilian graphic designer Álvaro Franca creates his stylized portraits. A closer look reveals that his subjects’ faces, hair, and clothing are all comprised of letterforms that are impressively produced on a vintage typewriter. Aptly titled Typewritten Portraits, Franca creates portraits of five of his favorite authors, including Jack Kerouac, J.D. Salinger, and Charles Bukowski.
To craft these works, Franca created reference images on his computer. It gave him an idea of where the dark and light parts are on a face, and he used this as a guide when pecking away on his typewriter. Certain letterforms seem to be perfect for conveying a sense of realism in the portraits. The “m,” when placed together, creates a dense, shaded area, and we can see that the designer also layered text to further enhance this…

What to Do if You Screw Up
We all make mistakes; it’s a part of being human and fallible. But if you’re like most people, you feel terrible whenever it
happens. The reason, as most business coaches and motivational experts will tell you, is that people mostly just want to
do a good job. Studies in the past have shown that while money is a key factor in human performance levels, being
appreciated for talent and hard work ranks even higher.
It follows then, that when we don’t get it right the first time, or we let someone down, or we don’t meet expectations, we
feel badly about it. Some people feel so badly that they block out this emotion, instead projecting the blame on others so
they won’t have to face being imperfect.
People who feel secure in themselves, however, have a different way of looking at mistakes. Instead of dwelling in them, or living in denial about them, or searching for a scapegoat, they are able to recognize and acknowledge when they’ve acted in error, correct the mistake, and recover.
So, what do you do when you’ve tried your best, but things didn’t work out and now you’ve got a big mess to clean up?
Answer: just clean it up and move on.

Imagine all the wondrous things your mind might embrace if it weren’t wrapped so tightly around your struggles. Always look at what you have, instead of what you have lost. Because it’s not what the world takes away from you that counts; it’s what you do with what you have left. Photo credit

Human civilization after the Apocalypse
Hollywood almost every year treats us one way or another vision of a doomsday when the Earth befalls any technological, environmental or extraterrestrial catastrophe, with spectacular special effects and realistic. And, in fact, will look like the world around us, by any chance, God forbid, something terrible will happen, and we will disappear from the face of the earth, leaving the entire infrastructure - cities, factories, hundreds of thousands of kilometers of roads, bridges, dams and more, reservoirs and other large objects?
The answer to this question is to try to give experts from a private company engaged in the development of computer games «Naughty Dog». As a result, they showed us the world-famous attractions such as they are likely to look after the end of the world. Some of the images look really creepy.

10 Surprising Facts About Pentagon
The Pentagon is one of the most famous buildings in the world. You don't get a status like that without having some interesting facts that most people don't know about. Here are 10 of the best ones we could find. #8 is pretty crazy, I can't believe how people get from floor to floor in the building.
01. It wasn't supposed to be for the DoD.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt never intended the Pentagon to be the home of the Department of Defense. In the 1930's he commissioned another building for the War and Navy departments, but they quickly outgrew that space. That's when FDR ordered a new building that could accommodate 40,000 employees and 10,000 cars. The old War Department building is now the State Department.

So not quite the usual manner of drawing, the artist creates a lot of portraits of famous people. To create each job requires a lot of time, about 200 hours and more than thirty tube of toothpaste. The main challenge in creating jobs, is fast drying and stickiness of the material.
The America's New Super Electric Car Renovo Coupe - $529,000
Let's hope there's room for another electric car from Silicon Valley, because the Renovo Coupe is stunning.
Stunning, in that it's a two-seat coupe built on the chassis of a Shelby CSX9000. And it gets to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, going up to a top speed 120 mph – which isn't bad for an EV. Renovo says its motor produces 500 horsepower and 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque, running with a 740 volt battery pack that's roughly double the power of the one in a Tesla Model S.
Renovo started working on the vehicle four years ago, according to Automotive News, and says it's now taking orders for the roughly 100 cars that will be made starting next year. It showed off a running prototype at Pebble Beach Friday.
The company's founders see a void now that Tesla no longer makes a sports car, and even at this price, it's hard to see how they couldn't move every one of these great-looking coupes they make.

Adam Katzman — Jerko Houseboat
Adam Katzman grew up in a wealthy New Jersey suburb, but these days he calls an off-grid houseboat home. The Jerko, as Katzman named his current habitat, is painted to resemble a circus clown. Although the boat floats in one of the most polluted bodies of water in America— the Gowanus Canal— it doesn’t contribute to the pollution, thanks to its homemade rain harvesting and filtration system, solar panels and a “humanure” composting toilet. Despite his extensive experience in green building, Katzman says retrofitting the boat with these off-grid systems was a challenge. Still, he says, if he can live off the grid in New York City, he can do it anywhere. “It can be hard work and it can be challenging, but ultimately it’s what feels good,” he says.
